The Goddess of Bliss

IMG_7614

Reaching Auli was a mountainous task (literally) . From uttarkashi we had to travel in 6 different vehicles to reach auli. Uttarkashi > lamgaon > pipaldali > srinagar > karnaprayag > chamoli > joshimath .  After a tiring journey we opted to give it a break at joshimath and stay there overnight . Next morning we head to Auli via ropeway. Auli has the best ski slopes in entire Asia . The Ropeway itself is one of a kind , indias highest and second longest after Gulmarg . The “gondola” as locals say offers a perfect view of garwhal himalayan ranges. We weren’t done yet as we started hiking to gorson bugyal top . What awaits there wasn’t just snow , the trek itself was mesmerising through dense forests covered in a thick blanket of snow . The 360 degree from the top will blow your mind. I could see mount trishul, hathi parbat, ghoda parbat, dunagiri, panchchula . Among them the Nanda devi stands out .nanda devi is indias second highest peak or highest which is entirely located in india . In a cloudless sky somehow nanda devi manages to have a crown of clouds. It was magical .the goddess of bliss the nanda devi stole my soul.

Hop in to the Hippie Village

If you fancy Waking up to the sounds of mountain birds, whistling of air through deodars and distant smell of farm animals, and ever smiling locals this hippie village is the place to be .

The best thing about Dharamkot was it doesn’t have any roads, except for a single road that leads to it. Walk around , get lost , who knows what you may come across.
